complex curves better than plain weave. It wets out with a little more difficulty.

Fiberglass Mat
Chopped Strand Mat is
very economical and offers good stiffness. However,
for
greater strength and a lower weight product
biaxials and woven cloth fabrics are
generally used. All of the following mats are
compatible for use with Polyester and
Vinyl Ester resins only. See below for Epoxy
compatible mat.**
Note: The
individual fibers that make up chopped strand mat are held together by
a binder that breaks down when saturated with
Polyester or Vinyl Ester resin. Mat
requires approximately 1.5-2 times it's own
weight in resin to obtain proper saturation.

KevlarŪ (Aramid) Fabric
Aramid is the generic name for KevlarŪ (DuPont). Aramid is best used where toughness is needed. It sands poorly, and usually a light glass fabric is used to finish it. It is also affected by UV light.
Fabric is 2nd Quality (not quite perfect).
